Percy William Holder 86, one of seven brothers and four sisters, born in Thomasville, North Carolina March 6, 1920, quietly passed away at Greentree Manor nursing home Friday evening with his family by his side.
Percy is survived by his sister Helen and his brother Henry, his three sons John, Michael and Larry, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Percy a resident of Pawcatuck, was a baker with Milbour Bakery in New London and Bess Eaton Donuts in Pawcatuck for 47 years.
He was a hard working, devoted provider, and a wonderful father to his sons. Percy never complained, loved people and had many friends. His pleasant disposition and playful humor will be sadly missed.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic on Thursday at 11am. No gathering will follow the services.
Sending flowers will not be necessary, instead pass along some kind words to the next stranger you meet, hug your family and tell them how much you care for them, and enjoy each day of your life.
