Obituary

Methuen, MA – Wilfred J. Desjardins, 80, died December 24, 2006 at the family residence.
Born and educated in Lawrence Mr. Desjardins had been employed as a layout operator with Western Electric known today as Lucent Technologies of North Andover for 35 years before retiring.

Wilfred was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Methuen.
During world war II he served his country in the U.S. Army prior to his honorable discharge.
According to his family he enjoyed ceramics, movies, music, and during the Christmas season enjoyed playing Santa Claus for his grandchildren, several schools and day cares.
Wilfred is survived by his wife of 58 years Marie A. (Roy) Desjardins, children: Theresa & husband Ronald Lafreniere of Derry, Lorraine & husband Donald Jackson of Methuen, Richard & wife Linda Desjardins of Andover, Roger & wife Betty Desjardins of Andover, Robert & wife Debra Desjardins of Florida, Ronald & wife Laura Desjardins of Derry, 1 brother Arthur Desjardins of SC, 1 sister Theresa Boie of Florida, 9 grandchildren & several nieces and nephews.
Wilfred was pre-deceased by his brother Edmond Desjardins.
A funeral mass will take place on Friday morning at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa’s Church 22 Plymouth Street in Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street of Methuen.
