Obituary

TEWKSBURY, MA: Mary R. (Murphy) Gosselin, age 86, a resident of Tewksbury, MA formerly of Portland, Maine, died Monday, December 25, 2006 at Saints Medical Center in Lowell, MA, following a lengthy illness.
She was the wife of 47 years to Raymond R. Gosselin, who died April 8, 2006.
Born in Portland, Maine on September 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Martin J. and Nappie (Coyne) Murphy.
Mrs. Gosselin was raised in Portland, ME.
She attended Portland schools and was graduated from Cathedral High School.
While living in Portland, she was a communicant of St. Pius X Church.
Prior to her marriage, she was employed at the offices of the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company of Portland.
She enjoyed playing golf, traveling with her late husband, attending professional golf tournaments, listening to Irish music, dancing and according to her family was an avid Boston Red Sox Baseball fan and season ticket holder.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law; Mary Murphy of Homer Glen, Illinois and Rochelle (Gosselin) Hastings of Tewksbury; three brothers-in-law; Roger Gosselin and his wife Jeannine, Richard Gosselin and his wife Annette all of Berlin, NH and Roland Gosselin and his wife Roz of Springfield, PA; her mother-in-law; Marguerite Gosselin of Boothwyn, PA; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; close friends; Kay Joyce, Bridget Malia and Peggy Concannon all of Portland, ME.
Mrs. Gosselin was the sister of the late Thomas and James Murphy.
At the request of the family there are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be offered at a later date. Interment at the Calvary Cemetery, South Portland, ME. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472 are requested.
