Arthur L. Doyle of Rochester, MA, formerly of Charlestown, died on Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton after a lengthy illness. He was 91 years old.
Arthur was born and raised in Charlestown where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1933. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served during WW II and was discharged as an Electricians Mate 3rd Class in 1945. Arthur later went on to work for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company in Boston. He retired from the company in 1975 as a Foreman.
Arthur is the beloved husband of the late Mary R. (Mahoney) Doyle. He is the devoted father of Helen Byrne and her husband Richard of Virginia and Kathleen Karp of Mattapoisett. He is the loving grandfather of Christopher Byrne and his wife Sarah, Richard Byrne and his wife Emily, David Byrne, Susan and David Karp and 5 great- grandchildren. Arthur is the beloved uncle of Judith Feeney of Grafton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
