LOWELL—Constance J. (Bergeron) Cox, 75 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, entered into eternal life on Friday morning, December 22nd, following a long illness.
She was born in Lowell, on November 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Madeline F. (Breault) Bergeron. She grew up in the Pawtucketville neighborhood of Lowell, where she attended Ste. Jeanne d’Arc School. She graduated from Keith Hall, in 1950.
In 1957, she married John T. Cox, Sr., who died in 1990. They had two sons: Rev. John T. Cox, OMI, of Miami, FL; and Jeffrey T. Cox, of Nashua, NH.
‘Connie’ worked throughout her adult life as a bank teller, a personal assistant and as a bookkeeper. Before her retirement in early 2000, she was the secretary in the parish office of St. Margaret’s Church.
She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church and a member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Surviving her besides her sons are a daughter-in-law: Rebecca Cox; three grandchildren: Brittanie, Kristie, and Timothy, all of Nashua, NH; five sisters and brothers-in-law: Beatrice and Ildage Campbell; and Gloria and Myles Quinn, all of Naples, FL; Lorraine and Donald Patrick, of Cambridge; Thelma and Paul Lahme, of York, ME; and Dolores and Richard Fairburn, of Center Barnstead, NH; several nieces and nephews; and longtime neighbors: Charles and Rose Raske, Theda Crocker, Claire Larrivee, and Virginia Fitzgerald.
Friends may call from 3 until 8 PM on Wednesday, December 27th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered on Thursday, December 28th at 11:30 AM at ST. MARGARET’S CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
