Obituary

LOWELL – Charles H. Mone, Jr., 82, a resident of Dracut died Friday, December 22nd at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Auger) Mone.

He was born in Newton, NH on July 28, 1924, and was the son of the late Charles H. and Helma (Grebenstien) Mone. He received his education in the Lowell school system and graduated from Nathaniel Hawthorne College with a bachelor’s degree in business.

Mr. Mone served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he served in the 150th Combat Engineer Battalion and participated in D-day and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a bronze star recipient. He also served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War where he was a jet engine mechanic and retired after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Tyngsboro American Legion Post 247.

Mr. Mone is survived by a son Charles Mone and his wife Sheryl of Lowell, a daughter Suzanne C. Charity of Lowell, five grandchildren Evan Mone, Kyla Mone, Stacey Charity, Jennifer, Charity, and Edward Charity, and three great grandchildren, Kali, Kevin, and Kendra. He is predeceased by three sisters Mary Silveria, Helen Durden, and Anna Cimon.

At the request of the family, all services will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT.
