DUDLEY – Rita H. (Haggerty) Chabot, 89, formerly of Barry Ave., died Wednesday, Dec. 20, in Lanessa Extended Care Facility. Her husband of 21 years, George Chabot, died in 1970.
She leaves several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, James W. Haggerty, and three sisters, Marion Norton, Agnes Bartkiewicz and Bernice Steele.
She was born in Webster, a daughter of James and Mary (McManus) Haggerty. She graduated from St. Louis High School in 1934, and was the valedictorian of her class.
Mrs. Chabot was a secretary at Cranston Print Works Company in Webster for over 20 years before retiring in 1985. She then worked at St. George’s Flower & Gift Shop for several years.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church in Webster.
The funeral will be held Saturday, December 23, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A calling period will be from 8:30 to 9:30 AM Saturday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass. Please omit flowers.
