Obituary

Charles P. McBrayer, 70, of Lenox, died Wednesday, December 20, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Pineview Holiness Baptist Church. Rev. Silas Carver, Rev. Edsel Young and Rev. Larry Bowen will officiate with burial to follow in Pineview Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery. Vernon McBrayer, Gene McBrayer, Mike McBrayer, Kennon McBrayer, Steve Stanfield and Duane Barber will serve as pallbearers. The men of Pineview Holiness Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. McBrayer was born on March 3, 1936 in Tift County and was the son of Richard T. McBrayer and Myra Bell Stephens McBrayer, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Clarence McBrayer; and one sister, Mildred Smith. He was an auto parts salesman and a member of Pineview Holiness Baptist Church. He was raised in Tift County and moved to Cook County in 1967, where he resided until his death.

Mr. McBrayer is survived by his wife, Frances Baker McBrayer of Lenox; two sons, Charles Neal McBrayer of Lenox and Carl McBrayer of Colquitt; four brothers, Vernon McBrayer of Warner Robins, Gene McBrayer of Jacksonville, Florida, James L. McBrayer of Tifton and Mike McBrayer of Tifton; one sister, Doris Marchant of Tifton; three grandchildren, John McBrayer, Shelby McBrayer and Justin McBrayer; and two great grandchildren, Brooklyn Jade McBrayer and Colby Justin McBrayer.
