Frederick F. White 66, of Franklin, died Tuesday December 19, 2006 at his home, following a 4 month illness. He was the husband of Carole M. (Kenney) White.
Born in Boston, August 16. 1940 a son of the late Henry and Anna (Gillis) White, he was raised and educated in Boston and was a 1960 graduate of Brighton High School. He lived in Dorchester before moving to Franklin in 1970.
Mr. White retired in 1999 from the former Massachusetts Electric Company where he was a foreman, and had been an employee of the company for over 40 years.
He served in the US Navy just before the Viet-Nam War. After serving for 2 years, he was honorably discharged in March 1962.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a member and former president of the Brockton Ski Club, a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, the American Association of Retired Persons and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. He was also a former member of the Westwood Gun Club, and Sacred Heart Council #1847 Knights of Columbus in Franklin.
In addition to his wife of 41 years, he leaves a son John F. White and his wife Kristen of Milford, a daughter Donna M. Gervais and her husband Ron of Dudley, a brother Robert L. White of Hudson, a sister Claire Hull of Braintree and 2 grandsons Sean P. and Ryan M. Gervais of Dudley.
He was the brother of the late John Gillis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral with military honors on Saturday December 23, 2006 at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. with a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10:00AM. Burial will be private.
Calling hours are Friday December 22, 2006 from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
