Helen M. Walsh, 89, of New Bedford died Friday October 4, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Francis H. and Mary Elizabeth (Shea) Walsh.
Miss Walsh was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford for most of her life. She was a graduate of Regis College in Weston.
She was a communicant of St. James Church.
Miss Walsh was formerly employed as a teacher in the art department for the New Bedford School Department.
She was a member of the Regis Alumnae Association.
Survivors include a niece, Jane W. Barnhart of Bellingham; and 4 nephews, Francis H. Walsh, III, of Lynnfield, Peter M. Walsh of Glastonbury, Conn., David J. Walsh of Bethlehem, Penn., and Leonard Hodgkinson of Rensselaer, New York.She was the sister of the late Francis H. Walsh, Jr. and Elizabeth Walsh Hodgkinson.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday October 7, 2002 at 12 Noon in St. James Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday morning 10:30-11:30 AM prior to the Funeral Mass.
