Robert L. Marks, 63, of Londonderry, NH died December 18, 2006 at Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center in Derry, NH. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 21, 1943, a son of the late Glenroy and Viola (Richardson) Marks. Raised in Philadelphia, he served in the Air Force for 20 years and retired from active duty with the rank of M/Sgt. Mr. Marks had been employed as a software engineer by the Raytheon Corp. for 15 years. He had received a bachelor’s degree from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA and a master’s degree from Southern NH University in Hooksett, NH. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nashua, NH and was a great advocate for the homeless. He helped establish the Ann Marie House in Hudson, NH. Mr. Marks was known as an avid fisherman.
Family members include his wife of 37 years, Mary (Todd) Marks of Londonderry; a son, Byron C. Marks of Cambridge, MA; a sister, Anita Jones of San Jose, CA; two brothers, Lawrence Marks of Philadelphia, PA and Glenroy Marks II of Williamsport, PA; brother-in-law, Oria Todd and wife, Arthelle of New Jersey; sisters-in-law, Diane Ford and her husband Clyde, Joan Hymen and her husband Myron, and Gloria Gainey and her husband Clyde , all of Philadelphia; nieces and nephews, Joshua Marks, Jeremy Marks, Lawrence Marks Jr., Kevin Jones, Kylie Jones, Dante Marks, Glenroy Marks III, Clyde Gainey Jr. and Nicole.
Calling hours were held Thursday, December 21 from 5 to 8 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A funeral ceremony was held Friday at 10 AM in the First Baptist Church of Nashua, 121 Manchester St., Nashua. Burial followed in the N.H. Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at 1:30 PM.
