AUBURN-Roy T. Raymond, 82, of Auburn, formerly of College Street, Worcester, died Monday, December 18th in St. Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine E. (Smith) Raymond, his son, Neil T. and his wife Cheryl A. Raymond of Worcester, his daughter, Sandra A. wife of James W. Igoe of South Dennis, a brother, Richard A. Raymond of Auburn, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons and several nephews and nieces. Another brother Norman Raymond predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester the son of Ernest L. and Eva (Gadbois) Raymond. Mr. Raymond was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a medic. He had been employed as a lubricator for Wyman-Gordon in its Worcester plant for 35 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, the Greendale Retried Men’s Club, the Wyman-Gordon Golf League and its Gung-Ho Club. Mr. Raymond’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and will be remembered as being an avid golfer.
The funeral is Thursday, December 21st from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday, December 20th, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
