SALEM - Frances (Kozicka) Schevis, 90, formerly of Salem, wife of the late Stephen Schevis, Sr., died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in the Hunt Nursing & Retirement Home, Danvers, following a long illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Francis & Anastacia (Tomcsyszyn) Kozicki.
Prior to her retirement in the early 1980's, she was employed for many years by GTE Sylvania in Salem at the Loring Avenue plant. She previously worked at CBS Hytron , Danvers.
A resident of Salem for most of her life, she was a communicant and active parishioner of the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Jr. and Peggy Schevis of Peabody, Richard and Eileen Schevis of Tucson, Arizona, one daughter and son-in-law, Jackie & Richard Mineski of Bradford, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ann Palamara, Nellie Tetreault, Betty Ouellette and Pauline Hall.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 22, 2006 from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at Noon at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem. A visitation will be held Friday morning in the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:30 am prior to the Mass. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
