Obituary

Amy Michelle Rowe Harper, 45, of Moultrie died Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with a private burial to follow at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2006, from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Ms. Harper was born on October 17, 1961 in Irwin County and was the daughter of Roy H. "Hank" Rowe, deceased, and Elizabeth "Libby" Burgess Rowe of Ocilla. She was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church in Ocilla and had lived in Irwin County most of her life. She moved to Moultrie in 1995. She was the office manager for Air Spray Service in Ocilla for 10 years and, for the past several years, she was an interior fashion lighting specialist with Varnell Struck and Associates. Her territory included Florida and Georgia. A life-long animal activist, Amy spent much of her spare time caring for and relocating abused and lost animals.

In addition to her mother, Ms. Harper is survived by her companion, L. Besaw of Moultrie; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Daniel and Melissa Harper of Tift County and Ronald Shane Harper of Moultrie; one daughter, Kristen Harper of Moultrie; Ron Harper of Moultrie, who is the father of Daniel, Ronald and Kristen; two sisters, Paula Shuman of Irwinville and Karen O'Neal of Ocilla; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Harper of Clearwater, Florida and Allison Ready of Moultrie; and two grandsons, Kyler Harper and Cody Harper, both of Tift County.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Cancer Foundation.
