Evelyn Celia (Downey) DiNapoli of Cape Canaveral, FL, formerly of Newton Highlands died Friday, December 15, 2006. She was 88. She was the beloved wife of Mario J. DiNapoli fro 66 years.
Born in Somerville, she graduated from Somerville High School and moved to Newton where she lived for 65 years before moving to Florida. After high school, Mrs. DiNapoli traveled the U.S. and Canada as a Professional Dancer. She was an active parishioner, choir and guild member of St. Philip Neri Church, Waban. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and friends and listening to music.
She was the loving mother of Maureen Soehle and her husband John of Cape Canaveral, FL, Marilyn Gieras and her husband Dominic of Albany, NY, Marlene Carroll and her husband Dennis of Newton, Joe DiNapoli of Cape Canaveral, FL, Margie DiNapoli of Cape Canaveral, FL and Marcia DiNapoli of Pawtucket, RI. She was the grandmother of Diane Soehle Gibson, John Soehle, Lindsey Carroll Alty and Blair Carroll. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., Needham, on Thursday at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Philip Neri Church, Waban, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
