Bridgewater- Nellie G. (Naviskas) Chimbur, 81, of Bridgewater died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Mass General Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late Michael Chimbur.
Born April 7, 1925, in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Tophelia Naviskas.
A lifelong resident of Bridgewater, Mrs. Chimbur was a graduate of Bridgewater High School.
She worked at Independent Nail in Bridgewater for many years and previously was an
assembler in manufacturing at Foxboro Co.
Mrs. Chimbur was a member of the Bridgewater Golden Agers and Catholic Women’s Club.
She enjoyed traveling with friends and was a Patriots Fan.
She was the mother of Joyce Cook of North Attleboro and David Chimbur of Middleboro; sister of Lillian Craig and her husband Ronald of Palmetto, Fla. Also survived by her grandchildren, Geoffrey Cook of Middleboro, Matthew Cook of W. Springfield, David Chimbur of Sun City, AZ., and Justin Chimbur of Park River, ND.; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Funeral from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Thursday at 8:15 am. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater, at 9 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-8 pm. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
