Obituary


William R. Loveday 89, of Dasmascus, Oregon and a former resident of Plainville and Dorchester, died Thursday December 14, 2006 at the Mt. Hood Medical Center following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Eileen M. (Garriepy) Loveday who died in 2004.
Born in Boston, July 11, 1917 a son of the late James F. and Elizabeth (Redmond) Loveday he was raised and educated in Boston. He formerly lived in the Dorchester section of Boston for most of his life until moving to Plainville in 1980. He moved to Oregon several years ago.
He retired in 1980 after more than 38 years of service with the US Postal Service. He was stationed at the South Postal Annex as a clerk.
He was a member of the Postal Workers Union, and the American Association of Retired Persons. He was also a former member of the Plainville Senior Citizens and was a former communicant of St. Martha’s Church in Plainville.
He is survived by 2 daughters Patricia A. Curtis of Damascus, Oregon with whom he lived, Mary F. Loveday of San Rafael, California, a brother James Loveday of Palm Harbor, Fl., a sister Mary Healy of Pensacola, Fl., 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday December 30, 2006 at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. with a funeral Mass in St. Martha’s Church Rt. 1A Plainville at 10AM. Interment will follow at the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours are Friday December 29, 2006 from 2-4PM at the funeral home.
