Obituary

OXFORD-Janice F. (Humphrey) Pappazisis, 64, of Oxford, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Sunday, December 17th at home. Her husband of 28 years James P. Pappazisis died in 2004. She leaves 2 sisters, Eleana R. Barton of Oxford and Sandra J. Ewing of West Brookfield, another sister Rose Marie Turgeon, and a nephew, Edward C. Barton predeceased her. She also leaves 2 nephews and a niece, Michael D. Barton and his wife Darcy of Oxford, and Jennifer and Evan Pappazisis of Westborough, a brother-in-law, William T. and his wife Julie Pappazisis of Westborough, a sister-in-law, Emilee J., wife of Paul Blanchet of Dracut, 2 grandnieces and a grandnephew, Samantha, Emily and Joshua Barton of Oxford.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Ray T. and Rose A. (Chaput) Humphrey. Mrs. Pappazisis attended Leicester High School and Brom’s Academy of Hairdressing. Janice and her husband owned and operated the New England Country Barn and Jim/Jan Hand Crafts in Shrewsbury. She was a decorative artist and belonged to the Society of Decorative Painters and St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

The funeral is Wednesday, December 20th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 19th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
