Dorothy W. Cavanaugh 89 years of Brockton died Saturday evening at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. She was the wife of the late Leroy W. Cavanaugh. Mrs. Cavanaugh was born, raised and educated in Brockton a daughter of the late George and Rose (Merrifield) Davidson. She remained a lifelong resident of the city. For 33 years she was a floor lady at Foot-Joy Shoe in Brockton and was a member of the Brotherhood of Shoe and Allied Workers Union.
Mrs. Cavanaugh enjoyed playing bingo, cards, solving crossword puzzles and traveling. For many years she owned a cottage at Indian Mound Beach in Wareham.
She had been a longtime communicant of St. Colman Church.
She is survived by two daughters and a son Judith Riley of Brockton; June Hill of Bridgewater and Gerald Cavanaugh of Falmouth. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
She was the sister of the late Helen Legault, Francis “Buddy” Davidson, Albert Davidson and Lillian Davidson
