Allan Schloss, a resident of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Peabody & Chelsea died suddenly on December 16, 2006 at the Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, FL. He was 73 years old.
Son of the late Nathan & Bertha (Robinson) Schloss, Allan was raised in Chelsea, educated in the Chelsea Public Schools, and a graduate of Chelsea High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Allan joined his father in the family business, Marval Hardware in Chelsea where he worked until selling the business. He was a resident of Peabody for over 40 years prior to moving to Florida 5 years ago. Allan was a member of the Chelsea Elks and Temple Emmanuel in Chelsea. He enjoyed playing cards & backgammon, but was especially happy when spending time with his grandchildren.
Allan is survived by his wife, Rose (Glazer) Schloss of Leesburg, FL; his sons, Martin Schloss of Middleton & David Schloss of Barrington, R.I.; his grandchildren, Lauren, Steven, Chandler, Zoe, & Morgan; his brother, Marvin Schloss of Swampscott; & his aunt & uncle, Minnie & Hy Glassman of Delray Beach, FL. Allan was predeceased by his son, Brad and grandson, Max.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Cong. Shirat Hayam / Temple Israel Cemetery, Lowell St. Peabody. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Martin Schloss immediately following the funeral service.
