LEICESTER; Randall L. Rogers, 83, of 2 Tanglewood Rd., died suddenly Friday,
December 15 at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge after being
stricken ill.
He leaves his wife 54 years, Jane C. (Coleman) Rogers, a son Gerrit L.
Rogers and his wife Medora of Easthampton, four daughters Susan Rogers of
Leicester, Betsy-Lynn Benoit and her husband Daniel of Cherry Valley,
Carol-Ann Tripp and her husband Paul of Watertown, TN., and Mary-Jane
Huelsman and her husband Randolph of Leicester, two brothers E. Lee Rogers
and his wife Neida of Canaan, Ind., and Lynn C. Rogers and his wife Darlene
of Centerville, OH., 7 grandchildren; Erica & Molly Paquette, Nathan Gilman,
Francis Benoit, Mary-Margaret Tripp, Daniel & Joseph Huelsman and many
nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rogers worked 47 years for the U.S. Government as a civilian employee,
holding degrees in physics and education. Prior to his retirement in 1992,
he worked as a physicist for Benet Labs in Watervliet, NY. He once served in
the U.S. Navy.
He was a member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Troy, N.Y. He was
also a member of the Scotish Rite-Springfield Consistory and the Melha
Shriners where he was a member of the Drum Corps and Legion of Honor in
Springfield, Ma.
He was born in Madison, Ind., the son of Ernest E. & Lena E. (Green) Rogers.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 10a.m. in the
MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in
Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Tuesday Dec. 19 from 4 to
7p.m. with a Masonic Service to be held at 6:30pm. Please omit flowers,
contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew
St., Springfield, Ma., 01104.
