Obituary

Clifford Marr, 91, of South Dartmouth died December 14, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Helen P. (Gaughan) Marr, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Blackburn, England, the son of the late John and Isabella (Fox) Marr, he lived in Acushnet and New Bedford most of his life before moving to Dartmouth in 2004.
Mr. Marr served in the U.S. Army for 24 years participating in World War II and Korea before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He then was employed as Base Civil Engineer at Otis Air Force Base for 20 years until retirement.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Andrews-Dahill Post 1531.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Clifford T. Marr of Brighton, CO and Michael E. Marr of Bradford, NH; 5 daughters, Kathleen I. Shorrock of Fairhaven, Maureen E. Doherty and Melissa A. Hendricks, both of New Bedford, Holly Price, and her husband Bob, of Marstons Mills and Elizabeth A. Marr of Palm Gardens, FL; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was the father-in-law of the late Stephen Doherty.
A Private Funeral Service was held Saturday, December 16th in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
