Obituary

Ruby Rosenberg, a former real estate agent and clothing store owner, died on Dec. 16 after a long illness. She was 75.



Mrs. Rosenberg was born in Amesbury, and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Esther (Brandwein) Sandler, and the sister of the late Sollie Sandler. At the age of 8, she moved to Lynn, so her father could be closer to his work in Boston at the Boston & Maine Railroad. Mrs. Rosenberg graduated from Lynn Classical High School, and worked as a bookkeeper, and clerk, and in 1952, she married the late Samuel Rosenberg. Mr. Rosenberg was the co-owner of Murray & Eddy’s delicatessen in Chelsea.



In the late 1950s, the couple moved to Swampscott, and Mrs. Rosenberg opened American Homes, a North Shore real estate firm. Later, in the 1970s, she co-owned Revere clothing boutiques Queen Size Casuals, and Empress Fashions.



Mrs. Rosenberg was a member of Temple Israel, and Chabad-Lubavitch of the North Shore.





Mrs. Rosenberg was the mother of Phyllis & Ramy Osher, of Peabody; Steven & Dr. Devorah Rosenberg, of Lynn; and Sheri Kelton, of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves five grandchildren, Lana and Rachel Osher; Aaron Rosenberg; and Max and Marni Kelton. Services were held on Sunday, Dec. 17 at Torf Funeral Chapel in Chelsea; burial was in the Everett Jewish Cemetery. Shiva will be held at the home of Phyllis and Ramy Osher, 7 Longstreet Road, Peabody, MA. Shiva will be observed until Friday, Dec. 22. Shiva hours will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., from Monday, Dec. 18 through Thursday, Dec. 21. On Dec. 22, shiva will observed until sundown. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated to the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home Foundation, 17 Lafayette Street, Chelsea, MA. 02150.
