Obituary

Alice B. Deguire, 95, of Knight St., died Thursday at the Friendly Home in Woonsocket. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanislas Deguire, who died in 1998. They were married on April 6, 1940, at Holy Family Church, Woonsocket.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Louis Aime and Laura (Laperle) Laplante.
Mrs. Deguire was a homemaker for her husband and eight children. She resided at her home with her daughter and caregiver, Lucille Deguire, until her recent stay at the Friendly Home. She was communicant of St. Agatha Church. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children.
She is survived by four sons, Richard Deguire, of North Smithfield, Roland Deguire, of Blackstone, Paul Deguire, of Burrillville, Brother Roger Deguire, OFM Cap.(Capuchin Franciscan), of Yonkers, New York, and four daughters, Lucille Deguire, and Helene Beauregard, both of Woonsocket, Doris Lavallee, of Ashland City, TN, and Jeanne Crepeau, of North Smithfield. She is also survived by a sister, Edna Laflamme, of North Smithfield, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Lionel Laplante, Rene Laplante, Robert Laplante, Eugene Laplante, Raymond Laplante, Theresa Belhumeur, and Cecile Sokolski.
Her funeral will be Monday at 10:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park, Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday from 5-8 pm.
