McKay, of Plymouth, Jeanette (Gray) 86 died, Sunday, December 10th, at the Newfield House in Plymouth. Wife of the late Albert N. McKay “Red”. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey G. McKay and his wife Valerie and Philip J. McKay both of Plymouth, two brothers, Arthur Gray of Sherborn and John Gray and his wife Doris of Medway, four grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mother-in-law of the late Malinda Tucker McKay and sister to the late Robert Gray, Francis “DeDe” Gray, Evelyn Wentworth and Phyllis Gray. A Memorial Service in Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, December 19th at 11 o’clock at the Church of the Pilgrimage, Town Square, Plymouth. There are no visiting hours. Jeannette was born in Framingham, MA May 8, 1920 to the late Clarence B. Gray and Mildred Gray. She graduated from the Sawin Academy in 1937 and Framingham State Teacher’s College in 1941. She taught Home Economics at Nathaniel Morton and Plymouth Intermediate Schools in Plymouth. She was an accomplished rug hooker, and made many beautiful rugs. Her most famous was a Turkish Prayer Rug. Her many other talents included: sewing, knitting, needlepoint,crocheting and cooking. For years she was an avid bridge player. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and good friends to many parts of the world. She was a member of the Church of the Pilgrimage, the Black and White Club and the Plymouth Yacht Club. She was born in Framingham, raised in Sherborn and moved to Plymouth.
Jeanette passed away at the Newfield House Inc., December 10, 2006.
