Edith E. (Tortolano) Maiullari, 82, of Meadow Lodge in Chelmsford, formerly of Winchester and Woburn, passed away suddenly at home surrounded by her family on December 13th . She was the beloved wife of the late Harold E. Maiullari.
Born and raised in Woburn, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Anna (Cistrone) Tortolano. She moved to Winchester with her husband in 1961, where she raised their seven daughters after Harold’s death in 1972.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Winchester, for many years. In recent years she knitted over 200 blankets, known as “handmade hugs” for Project Linus, whose mission is to provide for underprivileged children.
She is survived by her children, Carol Cyran and her late husband Doug of Manchester, NH, Ruth Aylward and her husband Brant of Billerica, MaryAnne Maiullari of San Clemente, CA, Paula Nawoichik of Chelmsford, Nancy Maiullari of Winchester and Lucy Maiullari and her husband Jeff Lee of Chelmsford and the late Louise Maiullari. Edith was also the dear sister of Mary Tortolano, Angelina Hatch and Antonio Tortolano, all of Woburn, Rose Fiore of Billerica and the late Violet Melaragni. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home 177 Washington St. Winchester on Sat., Dec. 16 at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Winchester at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Thurs. from 6-8PM and Friday 4-8PM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
