Obituary

John W. Mortimer, Jr., “Jack” 67 of Goffstown, NH, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at his home. Jack was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA on January 28, 1939, a son of the late John W. and Marjorie (Mahn) Mortimer, Sr. Jack was a resident of Goffstown for the past five years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH for 21 years. Jack was a graduate of Drexel University (formerly Drexel Institute of Technology) in Philadelphia where he received his undergraduate in engineering and Master’s Degree in management. While living in PA Jack served as a volunteer fireman. Jack retired from Meggitt Avionics in Manchester, NH. Jack and his late wife were founding members of St. Marks Church in Londonderry and a current member of St. Lawrence Church in Goffstown. Jack was a stamp collector for 61 years and was a member of the American Philatelic Society. He was also an avid surf fisherman and beach goer.

He is survived by a son, John W. Mortimer III and his fiancé Jennifer Kramer of Waltham, MA, three daughters, Catherine Przekaza and her husband Michael of Goffstown, Jill Salutric of Birdsboro, PA, Megan Mortimer Wheeler of Raleigh, NC, three grandchildren, Carolyn, Julia and Michael Przekaza, and a step-grandchild, Landry Wheeler. He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, June E. (Lovely) Mortimer in 2004.

Visiting hours were held from 6-9pm, Friday, December 15, 2006 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday 1:30pm in St. Marks Church, corner of South Rd. and Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Jack and June Mortimer Memorial Scholarship Fund, 326 G S. Alumni Stadium, 140 Commonwealth Ave., Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.
