Richard J. Donovan, 89, of Londonderry, NH died December 11, 2006 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. He was born in Haverhill, MA on November 3, 1917, a son of the late Andrew and Clara (Plamondon) Donovan. He was raised in Haverhill and lived there for 55 years. He resided in Charlotte, NC for 22 years before to moving to Londonderry in 1991. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by the Converse Rubber Company as a manager of quality assurance. Mr. Donovan was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #27 of Londonderry and was a communicant of St. Jude Parish in Londonderry.
Family members include his wife of 66 years, Priscilla (Duchemin) Donovan of Londonderry; a daughter, Jacqueline M. Scott of Goffstown, NH; a son, Richard P. Donovan and his wife Lynda of Windham, NH; five grandchildren, Karen Scott, Lisa Blue, Arthur Scott, Ryan MacLean and Nickolas MacLean; three great grandchildren, Daniel Scott, Katelyn Blue and Ashley Scott.
There were no calling hours. Following cremation a Memorial Mass was celebrated Saturday, December 16 at 10 AM in St. Jude Church, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Private burial will be at a later date in the N.H. Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Parish Building Fund, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH 03053.
