Lester S. Clark, 92, of Ocala, FL died Thursday, December 7, 2006. Mr. Clark was born in Northampton, MA on October 13, 1914, a son of the late Samuel A. and Ida L. (Gould) Clark. He was a graduate of the Holton High School, Danvers, MA, Class of 1932, and a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in engineering. Mr. Clark was a WWII Army veteran, serving as a Lieutenant in North Africa, Belgium, and France. After retiring as a Major from the Army reserves, he worked at Stone & Webster Engineering, Boston, MA as a design engineer, until he retired and moved to Florida in 1978. Mr. Clark greatly enjoyed music; he was a trained vocalist with the Boston Handel Hayden Society and also played electronic organ. In retirement, he also kept up with the latest in electronic technology.
Mr. Clark is survived by his sister, Ruth H. Durgin of North Andover, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers: S. Arnold Clark and Marshall C. Clark; and his sister, Janis R. Bessey.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation in Florida, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH.
