Obituary

Wilcox, William J. “Bill” Jr., of Plymouth, 75, on December 10th at Jordan Hospital. Survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Pauline (Belanger) of Plymouth and his children William J. III and his wife Sharon of Falmouth, Douglas and his wife DJ of Denver, PA; Jane Drew and her husband Kevin of Foxboro and Thomas and his wife Jo-Ann of Scituate. He also leaves his sisters Nancy Marcoux and Marilyn Wilcox, both of Nashua, NH and 10 grandchildren. Brother of the late John and Peter Wilcox. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday December 14th at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 11:30 AM followed by burial at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:45 pm. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt. 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Wednesday December 13th from 3 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Jordan Hospital Cancer Center, 275 Sandwich St., Plymouth, MA 02360. US Army Korean Conflict.

Mr. Wilcox was born on March 30, 1931 in Nashua, NH to the the late Dorothy (Haskins) and the late William J. Wilcox. He graduated from Nashua High School, received his bachelor’s degree from Suffok University, received his Master’s degree in Education from North Adams and took graduate courses at Bridgewater State College. He was a resident of Plymouth for 4 years, Duxbury for 31 years, Marshfield for 7 years and Cheshire for 4 years and has spent the last 14 winters in West Palm Beach, FL. He was in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a guidance counselor at Hanover High School, he was also a teacher in the Marshfield and Cheshire school systems. He was also a High School Basketball Coach for 15 years and the Director of Adult Education in Hanover. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the North Hill Country Club, White Cliffs Country Club, MTA, NEA and the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association of Mass.
Mr. Wilcox passed away at the Jordan Hospital on December 10, 2006.
