Doris R. (Nufer) Fisher of Fresno, Ohio, formerly of Needham, MA died on Monday, December 11, 2006. She graduated cum Laude from Hunter College in New York; elected to membership in Phi Beta kappa; received a masters degree in mathematics from Columbia University; taught math in NYC and the Needham High School; wife of the former director of Music in the Needham Public Schools and former dean of graduate studies at the State College at Lowell, MA., William R. Fisher, who left her widowed in 1969. Doris was a founding member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Needham, and was very active in the church and with the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Doris is survived by two sons, Robert W. Fisher of O’Fallon, IL, William Randy Fisher of Fresno, OH and daughter Carolanne Fisher of Netherlands, CO. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services at the Grace Lutheran Church, 543 Greendale Ave Needham on Friday December 15th at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment at Needham Cemetery.
