Bertha K. MacDougall, 83, of Derry, NH, died Monday, December 11, 2006 in the Haven Healthcare Center in Derry. Mrs. MacDougall was born in Derry on May 25, 1923, a daughter of the late William E.R. and Cora E. (Williams) Smith and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1941. She was employed for many years at Ruth Wells and Nancy Websters Kindergarten in Derry. She had also been employed for many years as the assistant librarian in the Derry Public Library, retiring in 1989. Mrs. MacDougall was a member of the Derry Grange, the Alliance Grange and had also been a member of the Sweet Adelines. She also served on the Pinkerton Academy Alumni Board, and had attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Derry.
She is survived by two sons, Robert K. MacDougall of Derry, and Douglas C. MacDougall of Raymond, NH; three grandchildren, Cheryl MacDougall, Scott MacDougall, and Karen MacDougall; one great-grandson, Zachary MacDougall; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Clyde W. MacDougall who died in 1997.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 13th at 11:00am at Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handled the arrangements.
