Josephine E. Smith, passed away Monday at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center of Burlington, the wife of the late Harold J. Smith, she was nintey-six years old.
Born in Sicily, Italy she was the daughter of the late Jenny (Cogletore) and Anthony Paris, she came to America when she was months old. She was a former Medford resident before moving to Woburn, where she attended school and lived for most of her life.
For many years she woked at Schraffts Candy Co. and later at Tufts University, in Medford untill her retirement.
Active in her community she was a Brownie Leader for many years and was associated with the family owned business, The Paris Farm located on Cambridge St.
She is survived by her two daughters Corinne J. Smith of Tewksbury and Beverly J. Smith of Woburn, and a brother Henry Paris of Woburn.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold J. Smith, three sisters; Mary DiOrio, Ann Bevilacqua and Millie Pindari; and one brother George Paris.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Friday, October 4, at 10 a. m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting Hours are at the funeral home on Thursday, October 3, from 7 - 9 pm. Interment will be private.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be sent in Josephine's memory to the Childrens Hospital Oncology Fund, 300 Longwood Ave. Boston, MA 02115
