Richard William Connors, a lifelong resident of Medford, died at the Epoch Senior Health Care Center in Melrose, December 7, 2006. He was 88 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, on July 12, 1918, he was a beloved son of the late Edward and Emily (McLaughlin) Connors. Mr. Connors was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1937. He was also a WWII Navy veteran, entering in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 1, 1942, until receiving his honorable discharge in Washington, D.C., on September, 19, 1945. During his military career, he attained the rank of LT JG. Mr. Connors was a long time Medford Fighter.
Mr. Connors will be sorely missed by one loving daughter and her husband; Susan M. Connors and her husband Donald J. Wolanin of CT, one son; Gary M. Connors of Salem, three cherished grandchildren; Alexandra C. and Veronica Wolanin and Christopher Connors, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the beloved father of the late Christopher M. Connors and brother of the late Edward, George, Roger, Arthur, Francis and Emily Connors.
His funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home 29, Governors Avenue, Medford, Monday, December 11, 2006, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours were Sunday, December 10, 2006, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
