John M. Chapman, 77, of Derry, NH died Thursday December 7, 2006 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mr. Chapman was born in Elvins, MO on February 12, 1929 a son of the late Charles F. and Amanda J. (Murray) Chapman. He had resided for the past two years in Derry, formerly living in Everett, MA for many years. He served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and held membership in the American Legion Post 0061 in Revere, MA. He retired from Faulkner Corp. in Malden, MA where he was employed for many years. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald Alex of Port Orange, FL, Joseph Alex and his wife Donna of Derry, one daughter, Eleanor Shropshire of Orlando, FL, two granddaughters, Leigh Shropshire and Terri Shropshire both of Orlando, FL, one brother, Jack Chapman and his wife Ruthie of Park Hill, MO, two sisters, Inez Eaton and Shirley Turner both of Missouri, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Watts) Alex in 2003.
Funeral services were private at the request of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of NH, 9 Cedarwood Dr., Unit 12, Bedford, NH 03110. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry handled arrangements.
