Obituary

Of Allston. It is with great love and deep sadness we announce the passing of Betty Hanlon (Hammond), originally from Spaniard's Bay and Bell Island, Newfoundland, and a resident of Allston for 51 years, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on December 6, 2006, at the age of 89. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Mick, (Portugal Cove, Newfoundland) and her son Leo. Also predeceased by her parents Jim and Lizzie Hammond of Bell Island Newfoundland, as well as her brothers Tom, Pat, Steve, Frank, and her sisters Alice and Rita. Left with fond and loving memories are her children: Michael and his wife Joyce of Watertown, Jim and his wife Mary of Hingham, Liz and Joe of Allston and Mary of Medway, as well as grandchildren Jennifer and Michelle of Hingham, Phillip and his wife Lisa of Weymouth and great grandchildren Jaclyn and Michael of Hingham. Also fond memories and affection are numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends from Allston, Boston and Newfoundland.

Betty was an active member of the Allston community serving in the orginial Silver Hair Legislature, Past President of St. Anthony's Guild, a volunteer at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, and dear friend of many elderly residents of Allston.

Funeral from the Lehman & Reen Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave (Nr. Brighton Courthouse) BRIGHTON Saturday Dec. 9 at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church at 9 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, Dec 8 from 4-8 PM. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Brighton.
