Obituary

Albert Winterbottom, 90, of Fairhaven died Tuesday December 5, 2006 at Tremont Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center after a long illness. He was the husband of Doris (Brun) Winterbottom; they had been married for 69 years.

Born in Fairhaven, the son of the late Albert and Mary Alice (Wilkinson) Winterbottom, he lived in Fairhaven for most of his life.

Mr. Winterbottom was formerly employed as a poultry farmer who operated the Winterbottom Farm in Fairhaven. After his retirement he enjoyed attending auctions, buying and refinishing antique furniture, and working with his wife at the Corner Shop in Mattapoisett.

Survivors include his wife; six children, Thomas, Richard, and Mary Winterbottom, and Joan Shaw, all of Fairhaven, Bette Huyser of Nantucket, and Nancy Rendal and her husband Edward of Easton; a sister, Ruth Peacock of Mexico; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Gladys Murray, Ann McIntosh, Robert and Alice Winterbottom.
