Obituary

Bridgewater - James D. Sears, 65, of Bridgewater died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Diane (Levine) Sears.

Born Nov. 9, 1941, in Somerville, he was the son of James Sears of Arlington and the late Olinda (Medieros) Sears.

He grew up in Cambridge and Somerville and attended Somerville High School.

Mr. Sears was a US Marine Corps veteran. He served in the Vietnam war from 1961 to 1965.

He was an animal agent for 38 years with the Animal Rescue League in Boston, retiring in 2003.

Mr. Sears was a member of the Hockomock Assoc., and had been a resident in Bridgewater since 1972.

He enjoyed gardening, animals, reading and Star Wars.

In addition to his wife and father, he was also brother of Diane Martinek and her husband Ken of CT, Barbara Sears of Arlington, Jean Richardson of Medford and the late Gregory Sears and Richard Sears. Also survived by his aunt and uncle, Irene and Bill McCoy of Cambridge.

A Funeral service will be held in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Friday at 10 am. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7 pm. Interment in Sharon Memorial Park.
