Obituary

WEBSTER – Angelina V. (Benvenuti) Rybacki, 83, died Monday, Dec. 4, in Webster Manor. Her husband, John J. Rybacki, Sr., 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Sunbridge at Sandalwood, Oxford. They both lived on Elm Street for many years. They were married for 63 years.

They leave two sons, John J. Rybacki, Jr., of Webster, and David D. Rybacki and his wife Nicole of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Mrs. Rybacki leaves 2 brothers, Julian Benvenuti, Jr. of Florida and C. Edward Benvenuti of Southbridge. Mr. Rybacki leaves 2 sisters, Jenny Norowski and Irene Bombardier, both of Webster. Both leave nephews and nieces.


Mrs. Rybacki was born in Southbridge and raised in New York City, the daughter of Julian Benvenuti, Sr., and Micklena (Salce) Benvenuti. She moved to Webster in 1943. She was a graduate of Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge.

Mr. Rybacki was born in Dudley, the son of Christie and Antonia (Boyjan) Rybacki, and lived in Webster most of his life.

Mr. and Mrs. Rybacki owned and operated Jay’s Seafood on South Main Street for 28 years,retiring in 1986. Mr. Rybacki first worked as a butcher at City Market for 15 years before opening his business. After retirement, he worked part-time as a janitor and watchman at Jeffco Fibers in Webster for several years.

They were members of Saint Louis Church.

The funeral for Mr. and Mrs. Rybacki will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:30 PM Friday, Dec. 8, in the funeral home.
