LOWELL—Ethel S. (Schleicher) Redington, 92 years old, a resident of Lowell for the past 10 years, died early Monday, November 20th, at Saints Medical Center. She was the wife of the late F. Donald Redington, who died in 1985.
She was born in Wilkes Barre, PA, on November 2, 1914, a daughter of the late Albert J. and Elizabeth (Riebsame) Schleicher, and was a graduate of Wilkes Barre schools.
Mrs. Redington had resided in Merrick Long Island, New York until 1983, when she relocated to New Hampshire. She was a communicant of the Parish of Cure’ of Ars in New York and was a member of Altar Society and the Holy Rosary Sodality.
Surviving her are a daughter and son-in-law: Elizabeth and John Flynn, of Lowell; two grandchildren, and their spouses: John and Elizabeth Flynn, of Melrose; and Christopher and Maura Flynn, of Natick; seven grandchildren: Kara, Thomas, Joseph, Eileen, Mary Catherine, Liam and Teddy; also three nephews.
She was the sister of the late Edna Chanowski.
Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 AM Wednesday, November 22nd, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM at ST. MICHAEL’S CHURCH. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lowell Council on Aging, 276 Broadway Street, Lowell, MA. 01854.
