Former Norton resident

Joan M. (Pike) Curelop, 69, of Tiverton, Rhode Island formerly of Norton died on Monday December 4, 2006 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. She was the beloved wife of Paul S. Curelop to whom she was wed to on November 16, 1956.
Born in Everett, MA on November 6, 1937 she was a daughter of the late William C. and Pauline C. (Foster) Pike.
She was educated in Malden schools and was a 1955 graduate of Malden High School. Mrs. Curelop was an Assembler at Codman, a division of J & J, in Norton for 10 years before retiring in 2000. She had also served as a loving homemaker to her family.
Joan was an avid reader and enjoyed watching crime drama programs on television. She loved animals and taking trips to Foxwoods, New Jersey and Las Vegas where she especially enjoyed playing Black Jack.
She had lived in Tiverton for the past 5 years and was a former 31 year resident of Norton.
In addition to her beloved husband of 50 years she is survived by her devoted children Michael A. Curelop and his companion Sarah of Norton, David Curelop and his wife Donna of Mansfield, Cindy E. Wirth and her husband Charles of Taunton and Jeffrey L. Curelop and his wife Sandra of Attleboro. Her sister Mary Murray of Malden. Her loving grandchildren Adam, Ashley, Brady, Cody and Zachary. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday December 8th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
A funeral service will be held on Friday evening immediately following the visiting hours at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
