Gloria M. "Gogo" (Mann) Carney, 80, of Tiverton, RI, formerly of New Bedford, died Monday, December 4, 2006. She was the wife of the late Edward F. "Ned" Carney.
Born in Barre, VT, the daughter of the late Dr. Wilbur Fay and Francies (Salisbury) Mann, she recently moved to Tiverton after living most of her adult life in Dartmouth and New Bedford.
Active all her life, she will be sorely missed. Most recently, she was an active member of the Country View Association and the Country Club of New Bedford Women’s Association. She was a former member of the Dartmouth Women’s Club and the New Bedford Red Cross, and was a past president of the New Bedford Jaycees.
Survivors include three sons, James M. "Jeff" of Saunderstown, RI, Edward F. "Ted" of Tiverton, and Bruce of Hallandale, FL, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Wilbur S. "Bill" Carney and the sister of the late Wilbur S. "Bill" Mann.
Her Memorial Service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St, New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne.
