MYRTUS (GARBER) "BUNNY" WRIGHT, 85, of Hingham, died on Sunday, Dec. 3rd at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Born in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, she was a Hingham resident for 53 years. A real estate broker since 1956, she was associated with a number of real estate firms on the South Shore including Eleanor Collins, Marden Realty, the Chase Group and was still active with Hingham Real Estate.
She was very active in the Hingham community and worked on committees to establish zoning in the 1950's and 1960's, and was on the committee responsible for getting defibulators for the Hingham Fire Department in the 1990's. Mrs. Wright was a member of the Hingham Mothers Club, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and a member of the Hingham Congregational Church.. She was very involved in several theatre groups, including the Hingham Theatre for Children, the South Shore Theatre, the Hingham Civic Chorus, the Hingham High School Drama Department and was one of the original founders of the Hingham Community Center's "Cabaret".
She enjoyed people and was fiercely protective, loyal and giving to her many friends whom she supported in their times of need.
Wife of the late Robert C. Wright, Jr., she leaves her three daughters; Ruth Ann Henrickson and her husband Bob of Lincoln, Beverly E. W. Godfrey and her husband Peter of Wellesley Hills and Mary Chris Richmond and her husband John of Hingham. Grandmother of Curtis and Evi Hendrickson of Lincoln; Trevor, Brad and Elise Godfrey of Wellesley Hills; and Scott and Michael Richmond of Hingham. Great grandmother of Nathaniel Hendrickson of Lincoln.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and on Thursday from 2-6 PM.
The funeral services and interment are to be private.
