
Ida Mae Drawdy Golden, 89, of Enigma, died Monday, December 4, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at Mount Zion Ministries in Enigma. Rev. Marv Williams and Rev. Jackie Connell will officiate with burial to follow in Oakey Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Abell, Kurt Williams III, Chesley Culpepper, Zach Abell, Dan Drawdy, J. E. Bennett and Jason Golden. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Hayes, Troy Hayes, Larry McMillian, Ray Peele, Ronald Harbin, Ralph Williams, Roy Ray, Duane Griner, Sonny Stinson, Lewis Dean and Buster McGee. The body will be taken to the residence of Curtis and Lunette Williams in Enigma on Tuesday afternoon, December 5, 2006, to lie in state until one hour before the service.
Ms. Golden was born on October 2, 1917 in Tift County and was the daughter of Rev. T. J. Drawdy and Elvie Griner Drawdy, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one son, Raygene Golden; six brothers, J. Eddie Bennett, Rev. Leon Drawdy, Clyde Drawdy, Clements Drawdy, Clint Drawdy and Carl Drawdy; and four sisters, Idell Sumner, Maggie Hayes, Irene Brown and Lonnie Granger. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Ministries in Enigma. She had lived in Enigma for 62 years.
Ms. Golden is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lunette Golden Williams and her husband, Curtis, of Enigma and Jerolyn Golden Culpepper and her husband, Ronnie, of Enigma; four grandchildren, Judy Williams Abell, Rev. Marv Williams, Michel Hastings and Chesley Culpepper; and six great grandchildren, Kurt Williams III, Zach Abell, Perrin Re Williams, Rachel Abell, Jenna Gabrielle Williams and Braden Culpepper.
