McGuire and the late Staff Sgt. Robert J. McGuire, Jr. He also leaves 6 great grandchildren and a brother George F. McGuire and his wife Louise of W. Bridgewater.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Wed. at 10 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 11 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 pm. Donations in Bill’s name may be made to Old Colony Hospice One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.

William J. McGuire 86 years of Brockton died Saturday morning at his home surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Alice R. (Donahue) McGuire. Mr. McGuire was born, raised and educated in Brockton a son of the late George F. and Josephine H. (Partridge) McGuire and remained a lifelong resident of the city.
During WW II Mr. McGuire served in the US Army in the European Theatre. One of his last wishes fulfilled was going to the movie “Flag of Our Fathers”.
He retired at the age of 80 as foundry foreman at Henry Perkins Company in Bridgewater after 43 years of service.
He enjoyed expanding his private collection of old time movie and was an avid Red Sox fan. He had been a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
He is survived by a son and daughter Robert J. McGuire of Watertown, TN and Patricia A. Flynn and her husband James M. of Brockton. Five grandchildren William L. Flynn, III and his wife Julie, Kellie A. Smith and her husband Richard, Robert J. Flynn and his wife Laura, Judi L. McGuire and the late Staff Sgt. Robert J. McGuire, Jr. He also leaves 6 great grandchildren and a brother George F. McGuire and his wife Louise of W. Bridgewater. He is survived by several nieces and nephews
