Charles M. Riu of Falmouth, formerly of Waban died on Sunday November 26 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was 85 years old. Born in Limoux, France, Charles moved his family to the United States in 1955, first settling in Lawrence, Long Island, New York. Mr. Riu was a resident of Waban from 1960 to 2000. After the death of his wife Simone, he moved to Falmouth. Mr. Riu owned American Supply an import - export business in Natick for many years. The beloved husband for 59 years of the late Simone (Mariou). Father of Michele Olem of Falmouth, Cathy Pokorny of Dover, Jean Pierre Riu of Walpole and Michael Riu of Franklin. Grandfather of David Olem, Richard Pokorny. Laura Russell, Jessica and Jaclyn Riu and Sydney and Cameron Riu. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Monday, December 4 at 1:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting will be held from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Newton Cemetery.
