Cecelia F. (Fairclough) Weaver, 88, of New Bedford died Saturday September 28, 2002 at home. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Weaver,and daughter of the late John T. and Margaret A. (Farran) Fairclough.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. She was the first female lector at her church, and served as a Eucharistic Minister at her church and at St. Luke's Hospital.
Mrs. Weaver was formerly employed as a librarian for the New Bedford Free Public Library until her retirement.
Mrs. Weaver was a member and first president of the Holy Name Women's Guild, member and past regent of the Daughters of Isabella, member and past director of the American Association of Retired Persons, and member of the American Association of Retired State and Municipal Employees. She was awarded the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River.
Survivors include a daughter, Charlene A. Northrup of Tiverton, RI; a son, Richard F. Weaver of Sarasota, FL; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 nephews.She was the sister of the late Leo Fairclough and Veronica Adshead.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday October 1, 2002 from 4-8 PM.
