TEWKSBURY: William Dennis Devine, age 76, a resident of Tewksbury for over 40 years, died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH.
Born in Lowell on April 11, 1930, he was the son of the late John M. and Gladys I. (Cooke) Devine.
Mr. Devine was raised in Lowell and attended Lowell schools.
Mr. Devine served during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Corps Members Badge.
Prior to his retirement in 1996, he was employed for over 20 years as an equipment operator by the John V. Sullivan Construction Company of Tewksbury.
Mr. Devine was a communicant of St. William’s Church of Tewksbury.
He was a member of the U.S. Bunting Club and a life member of the D.A. V. Post # 110 of Tewksbury.
Mr. Devine enjoyed reading, walking and hunting.
He is survived by two sisters; Barbara Proulx of North Chelmsford and Daurice Ducharme and her husband Pete of Lowell; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mr. Devine was the brother of the late Eileen Mackey, Louise Donnelly, Anna Treadway, John, Jerry, Jim and Robert Devine.
Calling hours Monday, December 4th, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, to be followed by graveside services at 11:30 a.m. at the Tewksbury Cemetery.
