David "Luke" Pitts, 88, of Tifton, died Thursday, November 30, 2006, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2006, in Lawrence Cemetery. Rev. Chris Ramsey will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 1, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Pitts was born on November 3, 1918 in Turner County and was the son of Clayton Bailey Pitts and Lucy Dell Pitts, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by one brother. He was retired as the caretaker of Westside Baptist Church in Ashburn, where he was also a member.
Mr. Pitts is survived by one daughter, Juanita Gray of Tifton; three grandsons, Dewayne Hill, Tim Hill and Chuck Hill; and three great grandchildren, Emilea Hill, David Hill and Alex Hill.
