Agnes K. (Pendergast) Hickey, 89 of Walpole, died, Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Emerald Court Health and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. She was the wife of Colonel Eugene P. Hickey Jr. who died in 1988.
Born in Brighton on January 1, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Patrick J. and Agnes (Maguire) Pendergast. She was a resident of Walpole since 2005 and formerly resided in Franklin.
Mrs. Hickey was a graduate of Brighton High School and the Boston Business School. After her husband’s retirement, she worked at Dean College in Franklin for 10 years and also had worked in the Franklin Town Clerk’s Office for a couple years. During WWII, Mrs. Hickey worked for the Department of the Navy.
She is survived by; three sons, Gene Hickey of Walpole, Paul Hickey of Medway and Denis Hickey of Brighton, a daughter, Mary Denise Hickey of Milford, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one nephew, Raymond Marciniak of West Springfield.
She was sister of the late Mary Marciniak and Dorothy M. Pendergast.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, December 4 at 12 noon in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. -12 noon.
